I have sailed on the Celebrity Summit twice. It is a great ship that was built in 2001 but was refreshed and modernized in 2019 during the $500 million dollar fleet-wide Celebrity Revolution program. During the refresh "The Retreat" was added which includes a suite only sundeck and lounge.
The Retreat Sundeck is a luxurious outdoor area that rivals any high-end resort. Designed by Kelly Hoppen, MBE, this spacious lounge area makes it easy to unplug with plush, stylish furniture and a relaxing hot tub. Dedicated attendants are at your service to make sure your every whim is tended to—cocktails, fresh towels, refreshing treats, you name it. This is a private escape within your escape.
The private restaurant for The Retreat, Luminae—open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—features a boldly elegant design as distinctive as its cuisine. Not only is the restaurant exclusive, but so are its menus. Crafted by our Michelin-starred chef, the modern, eclectic cuisine served in Luminae at The Retreat is not available anywhere else on board, and the menu includes complimentary signature dishes from Chef Daniel Boulud, our Global Culinary Brand Ambassador.
The Retreat lounge is available 24/7, and inside, is a warm and inviting space where you can enjoy complimentary beverages, gourmet bites, and a comfortable place to unwind. You’ll also have access to a dedicated concierge who’ll make any arrangements you need—on board or off.
Access to The Retreat is only available to suite guests. See the Video below for a summary of all the accommodations onboard.
One of my favorite new features added to the Celebrity Summit is the dining experience Le Petit Chef. Le Petit Chef is a one-of-a-kind experience, where an augmented reality meets luxury cuisine. Le Petit Chef is a feast for the senses, where an animated 3D character appears right on guest’s plates and prepares each course for a truly interactive, artistic evening.
All in all I highly recommend the Celebrity Summit experience, especially when you stay in The Retreat.
