Twin Farms, a Bucket List Worthy Resort in Vermont

Situated about two-and-half hours from Boston, five hours from New York City, and one-and-a-half hours from the nearest commercial airport in Burlington, the journey into the bucolic landscape surrounding Barnard, Vermont begins the Twin Farms experience. Allow time to dine on lunch and peruse antique shops in Woodstock, visit the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park and tour a working farm, or watch artists shape fine glassware at the Simon Pearce workshop in Quechee or Miranda Thomas, a world renowned potter.

Twin Farms offers 20 distinctive accommodations ranging from four large suites in the property’s Main House to 11 freestanding cottages varying in size and spirit.

All accommodations feature king-size feather beds with luxurious linens and sitting areas with wood-burning fireplaces. There is also the sprawling four-suite Farmhouse at Copper Hill overlooking Copper Pond, and the Lodge with two suites and a luxurious living room between them.

The entire property feels like an unpredictable gallery exhibit with works by Donald Roller Wilson, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Frank Stella, David Bates, Jim Dine, Deborah Butterfield, Milton Avery, Ed Ruscha, Sean Scully, Cy Twombly, Nam June Paik, and Donald Sultan, to name a few.
